_PERMIES
seeks to increase awareness, understanding, and accessibility of permaculture.
We strive to convert underutilized spaces on campus and in San Marcos into
beautiful, productive, ecological gardens. We also hold educational events,
meetings, and workshops to further embrace the ethics and principles of
permaculture.
PHILOSOPHY
_PERMIES acknowledges that many of our socio-environmental problems are
rooted in design flaws which exploit resources on a finite planet. We
want to help create a world of abundance and beauty by mimicking
nature's efficiency through our landscape designs and community oriented
worldviews.
While sustainability is a balancing point
between making things worse and making them better, PERMIES and
permaculturists all over the globe are working to create regenerative landscapes and communities which put back more than what we are taking.
Take action!
PERMIES is looking for organized, dedicated, and passionate students to join our leadership group in establishing a student-run garden proposal which we will present to the Environmental Service Committee. If you are interested, please contact us at [email protected] and join us in our meetings -- 2nd & 4th Thursdays at 5:30pm in ELA (Room# TBA). Also join our Facebook group.
